DuckDuckGo Just Beat Google In A Search

Disgusted by how bad Google search has become, I’ve switched to DuckDuckGo for primary search. I still use Google as a last resort — but now I’m wondering if I should even bother.

    Talk about tripe and personal opinion. DDG hits over 1m searches for the first time in its existence and everyone cries out Google’s doom. Hah. How this made it on to HackerNews is beyond me.

      It made it because I put it there. And it’s significant because until today there was no proof that Google’s core search business had become just about worthless. This would have never happened if Google didn’t screw up its core business: search. And do you work for Google? Feeling the heat, are you?

        News flash: Google’s core business is advertising. It might be a good idea to refresh your news sources if the pulse you’re taking speaks to Google’s search being ousted by any competitors. China is still the only Country that seriously poses a hurdle, while Russia’s Yandex is slowly encroaching on Google’s local market there.

        Also: No, I don’t work for Google. Though given the push of your own linkbait to HN, one might presume DDG’s got you by the wallet. Interesting.
