Whore Street

On January 1, 2008, I published a post called, And Now A Word About Our Future…

We were nine months away from Wall Street having its September 15, 2008 meltdown, but even then I knew it would happen and posted this:

With increasing frequency — and horror — I did post after post trying to wake people the fuck up.

Didn’t happen.

Even post-September 15th, didn’t happen.

And now, today, this: A Lonely Redemption

THE phone rings and Mr. Lewis, in midsentence of a long disquisition, picks up the receiver. A North Country car dealer asks about the economy.

“Yes? Yes!” he listens for 30 seconds. “It’s going to get a lot worse. We’ll be burning scrap wood in our fireplaces before it’s over. Goodbye!”

Boldfaced emphasis added by me.

That is from a deep Wall Street insider.

I don’t think any of you realize the breadth and depth of the diseased whoredom we’re dealing with.

But Lewis does. So go read what he was to say at that link.

If that doesn’t wake you up, nothing will.

And keep it in mind on Monday, while the NYPD tramples on our right of dissent as they go after the Occupy protesters.

  1. It’s a breakfast in the ruins situation. Everything LOOKS normal save those living in horror in cardboard cities and outta cars…sad, sad stories there. And many of those that lost everything are middle class who just never expected it…that’s not to undermine any other class, just to highlight how the whole goddamn edifice is crumbling and just about everybody still continues to worship at the altar of Celebritydom…reading the Kate Middleton topless stories rather than the above NY Times piece.

Like I say it’s breakfast in the ruins time…burying heads in the sand hoping it will all go away. Who know? Maybe it will…
