On my way to the Asus event this week, I stopped in a Barnes & Noble to see if their new hardware was out for fondling. It wasn’t, but they had two brochures for them:
Notice how neither one mentions books or reading on the cover:
Contrast those to the brochure for the original NookColor:
I guess they positioned them for the upcoming Nook Media company, trying to flee the book legacy of Barnes & Noble?
Also notable: Neither new device is “by Barnes & Noble,” as the original NookColor was billed.
Lastly: Notice the new typeface used for “Nook.”
