That’s the word going around.
Sony will most likely announce them this week.
But they won’t show up in stores in the real world until October.
Pre-ordering will probably start at Sony’s site next week.
Given this delay, there’s still a lot of pricing damage that could be done by Amazon, Barnes & Noble, even Borders/Kobo.
That said — and even though Amazon’s Kindle has won — in terms of ePub devices, what might keep Sony alive is the touchscreen. After encountering so many buttons today, the touchscreen on the PRS-600 was lovely to use (but not to look at). It moves people a step closer to book-like actions — not machine operations.
