I stopped by the API Building — headquarters for the now-canceled AMC-TV series, Rubicon — this morning. I was there last weekend and there were no changes, so I didn’t bother to take photos.
It’s a good thing I had the camera with me this morning.
The entrance looks lonely and forlorn now …
… but wait, what’s that? Uh-on! The building behind it went on a cleaning spree, of sorts:
They clumsily painted over and scrubbed all the graffiti that had been there. The alley now looks like this:
But the big horror …
… wait. What? No!
They’ve been dismantling Spangler’s office!!
So, that’s it. With Spangler’s office gone, API is officially out of business.
Damn you, AMC-TV!

It’s so disappointing, though not at all surprising, that my favorite show was axed. It happens to every show I *really* love (and there haven’t been many…I’m quite fussy). I’ll be buying the DVD when it’s available. Just so I can preserve the memory…
Thanks for the photos – most excellent!
Up until I saw that, I was still hoping there was a chance another network would pick it up. Now I guess that hope is dead.
