HTML5 Aims To Kill Apps

The Newsonomics of apps and HTML5

Websites will eventually surpass apps in readability and usability as designers and technologists combine the best features of an app with the immediacy and depth of the Web.

Right now, this is as difficult to see as the current Internet was back in the ASCII-only days of 300bps dial-up BBSes.

I just hope this doesn’t mean it’ll take thirty years to reach that point. I’d like to see Apple’s — and Amazon’s and everyone else’s — stranglehold on content broken.

I think the Internet will win. The Internet always wins.

Because freedom ultimately wins.

Nature loves freedom and diversity.

But getting to that point is murky to me.
