I don’t envy anyone tracking this market. It’s a mug’s game.
Should Amazon come out with a tablet, it would summarily kill all the ones flooding the market this year.
Still, I do this post mainly for my own amusement in the weeks and months to come.
These are especially relevant to my recent post about the NookColor.
In Australia, Kogan will be releasing a cheap Andy tablet. What’s especially interesting about this 7″ tablet is that it will match the resolution of the NookColor:
The tablet is expected to ship at the end of May and it features a 1 GHz Samsung processor, a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive touchscreen display, 512MB of RAM, and a 3600mAh battery. The tablet runs Google Android 3.0.
Then there’s Archos with its budget Arnova line. They’ll be refreshing the cheapie 10″ with a more powerful CPU, better screen, and a price that might be right up against the NookColor’s $249. See Charbax swoon over it:
Charbax also swoons over a lot of other Shenzen tablets in the works over at ARMDevices.
The only good thing I can say about all of these is that they’re better than the crap tablets from Cruz and Pandigital that scarred people who bought them late last year.
