This post contains an interesting tip:
At the moment, I have it set to launch Softkeys on boot, and Softkeys set to be runnable from the notification bar, with Softkeys home set to launch ADW (all of which is a work-around to allow me to get back to ADW from the reader.

This is a video overview/review of the Nook Touch. What’s interesting about it is the size comparison to a Kindle 3 and Sony Reader Touch (650). Also, when he compares the largest Kindle type size to that of Nook Touch, the superior contrast of the Kindle screen is very apparent.

Update June 14:
I never even thought of this angle!
Install Overdrive, get wireless access to library books.
And here is a Mom Story that made me LMAO:
Just got one of these for my mom, a very very late mothers day gift (hey its not my fault mother’s day is celebrated in the middle of college exams!). After explaining a bit about it, she pretty much asked me on the spot to root it so she can play scrabble and use some other android apps.
Boldfaced emphasis added by me.
I think we’re beginning to see the end of “It has to be easy enough for my Mom” stories…
now you need to replace the file uRamdisk on the boot n: drive with the new one make sure the new one is renamed to be exactly like the old one
Finally, someone else compared a Kindle 3 to the Nook Touch:
I borrowed a friend’s Kindle 3 and compared it directly with the Nook. What I found is that the Kindle seems to have a better e-ink display. It has more shades of gray, richer detail, and smoother fonts. I am kind of bummed. Everything is much darker on the kindle, even web browsing.
I wonder what is going on there? And I wonder if the Kindle With Touch will retain its deeper blacks?
