Of course, the Kobo app now has a zillion one-star reviews due to loss of the store with no explanation. Apple's very happy now, no doubt.

All those changes were made 'for the users' benefit', or at least that's why Apple claims it made the changes. The users LOVE IT, plainly.

Apple yanked the Kobo apps from the store on Saturday afternoon (interesting timing, btw). I wonder what other apps were pulled?

Additional:
I never liked the in app web purchase anyway. Seemed something that was destined to be used for fraudulent purposes. Obviously, the middleman business model won’t survive as anything other than a straight HTML5 solution. Save a web favorite as an icon on the iOS home screen and be done with it.
Having made the process so inconvenient for other vendors, Apple must now provide the same content, at the same price, and at the level of convenience provided by the in-app purchase shopping and purchase system.
