Go Away, Irene!

Computer models now show it tracking westward.

All officials here are now freaking out.

The Weather Channel says NYC could be “hit head-on.”

There’s talk of 80mph winds.

In the degenerate area I am exiled in, electricity, telephone, and cable TV wires are on poles. If those go down, I’ll be cut off from the 21st century for a while.

  1. Don’t be such a cry baby! Our electricity, telephone and cable services are also and poles and we didn’t die. Just strap yourself to your computer and you’ll be fine.

I just read where Irene is a category 3 hurricane with winds of 115 mph as of 1:00PM CDT. Good luck, NYC and everybody else in Irene’s path.

  3. Then you’ll really be able to enjoy the sound of crickets!

I’ve been watching TWC as well. They said if Irene tracks as they project, it would likely be the most ferocious storm to hit NYC since 1893. Mercy. Good luck to you, Mike.

  5. Batten down the hatches, lay in plenty of cat food, chocolate and caffiene and you’ll be okay.

Don’t get too worried, Mike. It’s just as likely that Irene will start moving eastward before it gets near South Carolina. Calm down and hope for the best.
