Occupy Wall Street: October 30, 2011

All photos taken Sunday October 30, 2011 at some time before 8AM. Resized and resampled to VGA, click any to enlarge. Photos appear in the order they were taken.

These are near-99% of the photos this time. The weather was again bad — very cold — and there wasn’t much to see and I wanted to get inside again ASAP. I circled once and took pictures and left.

A TV news truck:

Operation Gimme Free Shit in effect:

The sole TV news truck, CNN:

Some of the several Wanted posters:

The tent that had the choicest real estate in the Plaza was gone:

And NYPD was there, setting up the barricade again, this time it looked like in earnest:

The only bit of snow I could see:

That stupid fucking useless Art Project, the People’s Megaphone, has been gone, but now they have this …

… I have no idea.

The American flag that was there yesterday was gone:

Another peek inside at their stash:

Some NYPD with rank were there, cordially asking material to be pushed onto the Plaza property line.

It’s difficult to say how many people are there now. A tent takes up more room than one person in a sleeping bag on the ground. And I have no idea if tents are single, double, or even triple occupied.

These past four days have been a preview of Winter for them, with temperatures into the low 30s, with wind chills into the 20s. And it can get even worse as Winter finally arrives and grinds on with inches of snow coming.

If they ever settled on a layout — which I think is beyond them — they could put up little street sign and give each tent an address. Street signs like Bankruptcy Lane, Bailout Avenue, and Mortgage Fraud Street.

  1. I don’t see the TV truck in the second photo. Am I missing something?
