Barnes & Noble Nook: Even Bigger Hit?

I’ve been noticing an increase in search terms leading to my blog, culminating — so far — with this today:

The Nook Touch dropped off the search term radar here for a while but it’s been building again in the past two weeks.

That price reduction to US$99 has really helped!

Now if only Barnes & Noble would whisper some helpful tips to Gabrial of TouchNooter to get things back on track.

And “keyboard for nook touch” — if you mean hooking up hardware, forget it. The Nook Touch USB port does not do USB host. Nor is there a Bluetooth chip inside. But someone pointed out a WiFi Keyboard Android app. If you try it, leave a Comment.

Rooting the Nook Touch with version 1.1 using TouchNooter is now possible — to a degree:

What it does:

Enables ADB via uRamdisk
Installs su and Superuser.apk
Installs Busybox
Installs Button Savior
Installs Go Launcher
Installs NookColor Tools (To Enable Non-Market Installs)

Removed: Gapps so it works on 1.1

This is a version of TouchNooter that will not include Google Apps. So, among other things, no GMail and no Android Market. For now.
