Gas Prices Go Insane

For a long while here, gas was at $3.81/gallon. I didn’t bother to take pictures.

So when I saw this on December 30th, 2011, I thought we were making some progress:

But wait!

This was the price on January 1, 2012:

And then look what happened by the time I saw the sign and took this picture on January 8, 2012:

From $3.75 to $3.81 to an astounding $3.96 — within one week!

And the bastards will have the audacity to tell you this is still a bargain compared to back in July!

Here in Australia we will pay $5.60US for the same amount.

  2. You’re right, the government are con artists. Don’t matter what country you’re in you get spun a line. But the U.S. still has massively cheaper gas prices than us in the UK.

(Ben Bernanke in a robe, waving his hand in the air): This is not the inflation you’re looking for. Move along. Move along.

I’m glad I only buy gasoline once a month. In fact I pay two to three times as much for heat and electricity at home than I do for fueling my ICE car. Then again my rent is higher because I live so close to my work.
