Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

Without any hint this was coming, Samsung unveiled it.

Here’s the first video:

I’ve looked at reports from a variety of sites and it seems no one has noticed this is missing a key feature from the recently-released Galaxy Tab 7 Plus.

The IR blaster to remotely control a TV is now gone.

That’s a bit of a shame, too. That was a very interesting feature.

So if you want that, go out and get the 7 Plus while supplies last.

Update, April 12, 2012: According to reviews today, the IR Blaster does indeed appear in this new model. And the price will be a very surprising US$249 for the base model.
