Occupy Wall Street: April 24, 2012

All photos taken today Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Resized and resampled to VGA, click any to enlarge.

I was in lower Manhattan today, so of course I made at least one pass to see what’s up.

Approaching Wall Street up Broad:

And here we are:

No, that crowd is not Occupy. Those are tourists.

This is what’s left of Occupy:

Which is rather sad, given the weather.

I wish Washington could come back to life. He’d set it all straight:

And what’s taken up residence where Occupy was protesting? Commerce:

And, you know, how the hell does something that large get so close to the casino Exchange? That could contain a frikkin bomb! Do you feel safe considering that? So much for the diligence of the NYPD. They can push around people who want to make this country better yet let slide something like that. Who’s getting paid off?

And nothing on the other side:

And no sign of Occupy at Liberty Plaza:

And that’s what I saw today.

  1. Who knows what summer will bring? But I’ll wager Occupy will make a reappearance somewhere… The authorities are probably trying to second guess what’s coming. One aspect I liked about Occupy is it had almost a Court Jester aspect – court jesters were pretty edgy characters – and that probably disturbs the authorities most…the unpredictable, anarchic aspect.
