Nook For Web: The Gotcha!

I was trying Barnes & Noble’s new Nook for Web.

It’s a very nice Cloud-based reading feature.

But I happened to switch to other tabs while I had one of the free sample books open and discovered the Gotcha.

Click = big

I wasn’t logged in and this was a free sample book, so I really shouldn’t complain.

But it does make me wonder if this sort of timeout will happen when people are logged in with one of their own books.

  5. YES….. My deli-ma stands not with the gift card although they registered my nook under my daughter’s name and now refuse to change it to my name. I can live with the incorrect name. But the Verizon Fios WiFi compatibility issue is something that is really messed up. I purchased my nook on 5-25-12 for all the reasons it is advertised for, books, internet, movies, etc. I set up WiFi with the B&N help, no problem there, decided to try Netflix. We uploaded on nook, all computers, Wii, all house hold devised worked fine for 2 weeks. Now my nook internet and Netflix locks up. Call B&N cs and Verizon. Verizon is telling me it’s a hardware problem on nook. Uninstall Netflix app and re install the app. This is impossible because it is pre-loaded on the nook. Call B&N csts their solution to fixing the problem is erase entire system by re-registering nook and setting it back to factory setting. One problem is I lose all movies, songs, pix I have paid for. My B&N book purchases will be available. They said this is a 50/50 shot to fix the problem and the lock-up/freeze screen may immediately happen again. At which point I am to go through the whole re-register process. Now do I live with the Nook tablet 16G only for the books and not use the devise for its other features due to this glitch frustrating myself with “a groundhog day” scenario. I love the devise, but if I can’t find solution to the WiFi problem I will have to return the unit. B&N tech support was like your “shit of luck”. That other Tablet is looking real good right now.
