Size Comparison: Original Nook And Nexus 7

Thanks to @thetechchat for these photos:

These photos prove something I said on Twitter a while back.

That people would carry a seven-inch tablet because the original Nook matched that size to begin with.

In fact, the Nook was also thicker than most seven-inch tablets available today.

Barnes & Noble Nook: 7.7″ x 4.9″ x 0.5″ – 12.1 oz
Nexus 7: 7.81″ x 4.72″ x 0.39″ – 11.9 oz
Kindle Fire: 7.44″ x 4.72″ x 0.45″ – 14.1 oz
Kindle Fire HD: 7.6″ x 5.4″ x 0.4″ – 13.9 oz
Kobo Arc: – 7.4″ x 4.7″ x 0.49″ – 12.8 oz

As for the weight, most of the original Nooks I saw in the wild were in cases that added to their weight.
