I was going to run two other photos, of the TARDIS, but that would have spoiled. I liked the surprise. I also liked this special.

Moffat again pulled out all the stops and has created an entirely new story arc for the Doctor — cleverly teasing it out of an episode from the prior season and neatly bypassing the WTF of having a Companion from the era of Victorian England.

As for Coleman, she reminds me a lot of Christina Ricci and should bring a different angle to the role of the Companion than Karen Gillan — especially given the twisty time thing Moffat is pulling out of his hat.

There’s a lot of humor in this and an undertone reminiscent of the Doctor under Russell T Davies.
