The Google Store. What?

To get products into more hands, Google will open its own stores by the end of the year

An extremely reliable source has confirmed to us that Google is in the process of building stand-alone retail stores in the U.S. and hopes to have the first flagship Google Stores open for the holidays in major metropolitan areas.

The mission of the stores is to get new Google Nexus, Chrome, and especially upcoming products into the hands of prospective customers. Google feels right now that many potential customers need to get hands-on experience with its products before they are willing to purchase. Google competitors Apple and Microsoft both have retail outlets where customers can try before they buy. Google’s retail move won’t be an entirely new area, however.

This just makes my head hurt.

It is Friday evening. I’m not supposed to have to think about something with as many repercussions as this at this hour.

Archos 80 Titanium Not Crap In French Review

Test de l’Archos 80 Titanium [Google Translate]

1) IPS screen and build is good
2) Does not have Bluetooth, but does have HDMI out
3) Screen did not work with a capacitive stylus
4) Battery life is between 4-5 hours, depending on settings
5) Archos bundles a file manager and media apps
6) AC3 audio in video requires buying a codec in Play Store
7) Don’t expect much from either camera
8) It plays 3D-intense games well

It’s a better review than I expected.

Gerry Anderson Tribute Video: Dogfight Redux

This guy went and did what many a Gerry Anderson fan has dreamt of:

Dogfight Redux

This short film is my homage to the wonderful TV shows of Gerry Anderson and the creative genius of Derek Meddings. Edited down from the original 18 minute long epic, “Dogfight! Redux” showcases some of my original models and filming techniques that were used way back in the 1960s, ie. models on strings, with no computer involvement at all – just the way I like it. After nearly two years of preparation and two months filming, I can honestly say that “Dogfight! Redux” was a labour of love. I hope you like it too. For more information on the film and to see how it was all put together, please take a look at my blog – http://www.gmart364.blogspot.com

As well as behind-the-scenes info, there are 40 other modelling articles from the past twenty years or so. Enjoy the read and please offer comments and/or suggestions. they are most welcome. Thanks.
