I came across a new listing at J&R this morning:
Just US$129 (list US$149) for a dual-core eight-inch 1024 x 768 tablet?
Whoa.
The list price is US$20 less than the similarly-specced Archos 80 Titanium! The intro sale price makes it US$40 cheaper — and a whopping US$200 cheaper than an iPad Mini.
But dig it: This tablet is entering the price point of high-end eInk devices such as the Kindle Paperwhite and Nook GlowLight.
I don’t know how real the J&R specs are. At post time, not even eMatic lists this tablet on their own site.
If this tablet is real the specs are accurate, it’d have what the Archos 80 Titanium and Platinum tablets do not: Bluetooth. And Bluetooth matters for keyboards and external speakers.
Same-day update: Rakuten (formerly buy.com) also lists it.
