Where Is The Ramos K1 Tablet?

It’s August 8th. The date they pimped for its debut.

And there’s no sign of it.

Not one tech site in China has mentioned that it was supposed to be introduced today. A veil of silence has fallen.

At Ramos’ own site, all they present now is this splash:

And clicking on that opens a new tab that displays their home page! It’s like a Möbius strip.

Last night, the Ramos site was down entirely for a while. I thought they were prepping the site for the big unveil. But no.

New information: There will be two tablets in the K-series. The K1 will likely have the AllWinner A31s CPU and be WiFi-only. The K2 will have a MediaTek CPU and 3G.

Looking at the leaked photos last night, I noticed something:

Count the number of icons in one long row. That’s eight icons. A 1024 x 768 4:3 iPad Mini clone screen displays only seven. It’s unlikely Ramos modified Android to fit in an extra icon. So I’m concluding that this will not be a 4:3 1024 x 768 screen. I think it’ll be a 16:9 or 16:10 screen. Not an iPad Mini clone after all. If that’s the case, the last post about the K series to appear under the “iPad Mini Clone” category here will be the one with the final official specs.
