It began happening live, in real-time, after I few tweets I made about an episode of Run for Your Life.
Yeah. Go figure.
Every fifteen seconds or so, a bunch of new fake Followers poured in.
Someone, thank god, suggested I Protect my account. That stopped the influx — for now.
I began the day with 3,335 Followers. 2,205 2,199 [Twitter was slow to update] fake Followers were added during the bombing. Whoever was doing this was watching my account because the attack has stopped after Protecting my tweets, with fake Follower requests now frozen at 596.
Twitter needs to find a way of dealing with this problem.

It’s amazing. And these people follow 6 accounts. And then they get caught and are deleted and then the next round comes in. Waves upon waves. It’s like watching a battle scene in a Peter Jackson movie.
