Haierpad Mini 781

Watch the video after the break.

Listen carefully to the specs and description. There will be a test.

We’ve seen this tablet before.

The lack of any buttons on the side and no HDMI-out are the giveaways.

Did you guess which Chinese tablet it is?

Yeah, I’d place a bet that it’s been sourced from them.

Same-day update: Oh look. Haier confirms it in this video.

That’s the iFive skin!

So outside of these youtube vidoes, I have not seen anything else on this. But it is the Ifive mini3 by the android skin.

I Googled last night and found articles in France and Germany, one of which said it’d be available by the end of January. Well, that hasn’t happened. I doubt it will be released in America, where Haier specializes in appliances — but Haier France has done YouTube videos so it might show up only in Europe and Asia.

That a huge global brand like Haier — which is also known for quality, see: https://mikecanex.wordpress.com/2012/05/23/the-little-haier-that-could/ — has blessed the iFive puts it ahead of all other Chinese tablets in my mind. I have to consider that company very differently now.

In Europe with rk3188 and hdmi out there are also the Prestigio MultiPad 4 Quantum 7.85 and the Mediacom Smartpad S4 8.0 (is the same, change the firmware)…

Yes, those are based on Chinese tablets too — I just never bothered to find out which because Pretigio and Mediacom aren’t global brand names like Haier.
