The video:

As you’ve seen in the video, reading comics is pretty sluggish. That might depend on the file format and reader.

As for the Google Books PDF test, I’m pleasantly surprised! I really expected it to strain — but it didn’t. This tablet might actually be worth getting after all.

The second video demonstrates using conventional PDFs:

Those are very fast, as I expected. Regular PDFs wouldn’t strain this tablet.

In addition to the above videos, he did a review of the tablet [Google Translate].

I don’t know if he’s using the stock ROM and if that makes any difference in performance. I’ve asked him via Twitter and will update this post when I know.

  1. Dun

He’s using the kasty-fnf_ifive_mini3_retina-442-210_20140307-rooted4_mu ROM without overclocking.
The iFive skin is gone due to this rom and the use of Nova launcher.
With OC the Antutu score is nearly 21000.

  2. Yes, that is the rom, without OC.

I have detected a problem with that rom, USB OTG doesn’t work properly for me, doesn’t recognise a XBOX 360 controller, and some pendrives

Ah, reading comics is amazing, I can confirm it ;)
