I’ve been so focused on iPad Mini clones that this completely went by me. I stumbled on it just today.
Ramos introduced the i12c, an Intel Z2580-based tablet with 2GBs of RAM, 16GBs of storage, and an 11.6-inch IPS screen at a bit disappointing 1366 x 768.
The big news is the split-screen capability.
Unlike with Samsung, however, only one instance of an app can run:
And here’s a bit of a surprise (at least to me) — Google apps.
They don’t show on the main app screen:
But when the split-screen button is activated, an overlay pops up …
… and there’s Chrome and the Play Store, at least.
Full specs of the tablet are here [Google Translate].
And here are two videos:
I’m glad to see the idea of split-screen Android lives outside of Samsung. Maybe it will finally sink into the brain trust in charge of Android that this feature should be added to the canonical version of the OS — at least as an option for advanced users.
