Rockchip 3188 Nextbook 8 Listed

It’s too little, too late, for too much.

Too little: Non-Retina 1024 x 768 IPS screen, 1.6GHz Rockchip 3188 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a stingy 8GBs of internal storage, a 0.3MP front and unknown-MP back camera.

Too late: It’s April; this long after CES, who cares?

Too much: US$199. That's US$20 more than the Acer Iconia A1-830 that has 16GBs of internal storage.

For those undeterred, the website listing.

ICOO Fatty 3G iPad Mini Clone

ICOO, which never replied to my email inquiring if there was indeed a 2GB RAM version of the original ICOO Fatty, has released a 3G version of its iPad Mini clone [Google Translate].

There is nothing other than the 3G to recommend this tablet. It has a 1024 x 768 IPS screen, a 1.3Ghz MediaTek 8382 CPU, just 1GB of RAM and a stingy 8GBs of internal storage.

What makes it interesting is that the cellular frequencies are specified: GSM 850/900/1800/1900. According to this worldwide cellular frequency chart, the Fatty 3G would — ideally — work in the United States.
