Shocker: HP Slate 8 Pro For US$180

And BAM:

With an original MSRP of US$329, that’s a hell of a bargain. It’s about the price of the Acer Iconia A1-830 but with a much more powerful CPU and a higher-resolution (1600 x 1200) screen.

But this still remains untested by me and I still have zero confidence that HP intends to stand by it (where’s the Kitkat upgrade?), so no sale (even if I had the money at the moment).

Next day update: Now US$20 more.

  1. Still not a fan of the 1GB Ram. Still don’t like HP’s propensity for jackassery and sucking, so the likelihood of updates that break something or cost performance is very high.

Too bad HP is too stupid to effectively sell pretty much anything. So many things they could have done to make their tablets something someone might want and then purchase.

I can’t argue with any of that. After getting me worked up for nothing over several months, I’m passing on their products.
