From Engadget via Youku via a Russian via YouTube comes a video giving a light fondle of the Xiaomi MiPad.
I’m impressed at how the photos in Gallery appeared nearly all at once.

Same-day update: Skip down to the update!
This was sourced from GizmoChina. It has a VR-Zone watermark but a search of their site comes up empty. I went several pages into their tablet forum and also couldn’t find it (forum search is stupidly restricted to those who are registered).
After the break, an enlargement.

Yesterday I had a bad day that led to me mistakenly announcing Five had released MIUI for the Mini 3GS. That wasn’t so.
It’s actually for the Retina-class Mini 3, which uses the quad-core Rockchip 3188. The Mini 3GS uses the octa-core MediaTek 6592.
5Fans forum has a tour of MIUI on the Retina-class iFive Mini 3 [Google Translate].

Meizu is a company that I haven’t paid attention to because they’ve done only smartphones.
Now they’ve set up a subsidiary called Bigertech (yes, one “g”) and have a new Weibo account and new website.
And the new website has a countdown clock with a teaser graphic that seems to indicate a smartwatch, phone, and iPad Mini clone are coming:
Some sites believe the pen and glasses are also significant. I’m not so sure.
Anyway, why “Bigertech”? Apparently it’s a trick in Chinese [Google Translate]:
Biger corresponding millet xiao, upside down and read read homophonic associations are meaningful.
Same-day update: Meizu and Bigertech are on Twitter. Meizu, MeizuTech, Bigertech.
