Wow! It was just a week ago today that I posted this: Teclast Announces Retina-Class iPad Mini Clone: P89 3G.
Now someone in the IMP3Net forum actually owns one [Google Translate]!
All of the photographs after the break!
Recap: A 7.9-inch Retina-class IPS screen, octa-core MediaTek 8392 CPU with a peak frequency of 1.7GHz, 2GBs of RAM, 16GBs of internal storage, microSD card slot, microUSB port, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, 2MP front and 5MP back cameras, 5,000mAh battery, GPS, and SIM card slot for WCDMA + GSM 3G that will work in China and likely in Europe (America is questionable). Android 4.4.2 with Teclast’s iOS-like tUI skin. And although the back shows twin speaker grilles, Teclast has previously been caught putting a single speaker in a tablet with twin grilles so beware of this as a possible fraud until disassembly photos show otherwise. AAC is touted to improve sound quality. Although there’s no HDMI-out, there is Miracast.
The infamous Tyrant Gold color:
The owner reports it feels plasticky.
It looks all good so far.
We await the AnTuTu score. And this is going to be damned interesting too!
The Retina-class 9.7-inch CUBE Talk9x also uses the MediaTek 8392 CPU and claims an AnTuTu score in the 40,000-range (and it seems to have been verified using three versions of AnTuTu — including X!). I really want to see the score for this machine. If it doesn’t hit 40,000-range, then we’ll know CUBE has been fraudulent. If it does hit 40,000-range, well then MediaTek really does have a monster CPU on its hands and everyone else — Rockchip, Allwinner — better watch out!
As usual, I’ll monitor everything for more information about this tablet.
