Onda Tablet Battery Balloons

My Onda Tablet is Pregnant!

When I wake up in the morning I found My Onda V711 tablet is splitting!!!!!! And the battery inside is becoming bigger and bigger! I’m not sure if it will explode any time, so I called Onda’s customer services number, and no one is answering!

That is scary. Never leave a charging device unattended and never go to sleep with one charging. Lithium-based batteries can be very finicky and unpredictable.

Xiaomi Admits Privacy Breach (But Not All Of It)

The Next Web: Xiaomi makes its cloud messaging service optional for users following security concerns

ZooPDA — a site that’s often very critical of Xiaomi — provides the additional bombshell that the information that was transmitted back to China was done in the open; that is, not encrypted [Google Translate].

This issue blew up in Taiwan due to the political relationship between it and mainland China.

The U.S. government raised security concerns about products from Huawei and ZTE. Is Xiaomi going to be the next company on that list?
