HD Video From A US$149 Phone

The Blu Studio 5.0 C HD is one of the phones I’ve been wondering about as a possible buy.

It’s — usually — just US$149 at Amazon.

720p screen, 1GB RAM, a stingy 4GBs of storage (but it has a microSD card slot), a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek 6582 CPU, and — as seen after the break — a video camera and microphone that’s surprisingly good for the price. AnTuTu in the 17,000-range.

I post this because it should shame every damn tablet maker in China who puts something worse in a tablet that’s priced higher.

There are some artifacts in the snap I’ve posted — from a 720p version ripped from YouTube, meaning it’s not primary source — but none are evident in the moving video when I watched it at 720p on YouTube.

I’ve also been wondering about the Blu Studio 6.0 HD. So far it hasn’t been rooted. It just got an update to KitKat too.
