Xiaomi MiPad Gets Hot While Inactive With WiFi On

Tablet News has discovered this.

As you probably know from our review here, we own a Xiaomi Mi Pad. Well, everything has been fine and dandy so far, but recently we’ve been having some problems with the device. The product gets overheated to huge values while in standby mode, even reaching as high 52 degrees Celsius or 126 degrees Fahrenheit.

This can’t be good no matter how it’s looked at.

I would take this with a grain of salt. 99.9999% of the time when devices heat up in standby mode is because the device is closer to being in a screen-off mode than standby mode. Just because screen is off it does not mean standby. There might be apps running rogue and consuming battery. It all likelihood, these… people probably had some apps that are syncing through the internet relentlessly hence heating up.
