I thought I did this test. But Search tells me no. So it’s a good thing I happened to do it today, unplanned.
I’m not sure which version of the Note 3 this is, quad-core Snapdragon or octa-core Exynos. Samsung likes to play Hide The Salami with the CPU. If one of them is U.S.-only, then that’s the one I used at Best Buy.
Like the LG G3 phone, the Note 3 has 3GBs of RAM. The screen is only 1920 x 1080 (hello, iPhone 6 Plus!) but 5.7 inches. And those extra 0.2 inches really make a difference. It looks bigger than the LG G3.
Spec-wise, the LG G3 phone is a monster: A quad-core Snapdragon 801 running at 2.5GHz, 3GBs of RAM, and a 5.5-inch quad-HD screen at 1440 x 2560 pixels.
Reality does not match theory.
Manhattan has turned into a corporate mausoleum.
All the discount stores I relied on to keep me alive are being exterminated. Are the parasites from outside NYC who moved here really willing to pay twenty bucks for something I used to get for five at a discount store? They deserve to be bled. Bleed them dry.
A bit of a tour of what I saw.
In light of the new iPhone 6 Plus, this is being passed all around Twitter: Feb 13, 2012 — Samsung’s Galaxy Note is the most useless phone I’ve used
The phone is too big. You will look stupid talking on it, people will laugh at you, and you’ll be unhappy if you buy it.
Meanwhile, since I venture out into the Real World: April 7, 2012 — Samsung’s Galaxy Note Phone Is A Monster Hit
That’s about 600,000 iPhone 6 flying to the U.S.. Cook intends to have seventy million made by the end of the year.
I saw a photo of an airfreighter being loaded with an iPhone shipment in Weibo but couldn’t get the large image of it due to Weibo problems.
Next-day update: And here’s that image.
Does this guy — who has just 197 Weibo Followers — have inside information or is he engaging in rumor mongering?
He says Intel will end all subsidies to tablet makers they’ve wooed to use their CPUs. Given how Intel announced a new Android tablet reference design, this just doesn’t seem right unless the Chinese government will interfere.
