ZTE Announces US$250 5.7-Inch Phone

How ZTE plans to woo US consumers: Go big, go cheap

ZTE ZMax has 5.7-inch display, available for T-Mobile starting September 24 (hands-on)

5.7-inch 1280 x 720 screen, Snapdragon 400 CPU at 1.2GHz, Adreno 305 GPU, 2GBs RAM, 16GBs internal storage, microSD card slot, 3,200mAh battery, Android 4.4.2 with a ZTE skin (MiFlavor — a name which should irk someone over at Xiaomi).

What excites me is that this will be sold by and work with T-Mobile and will do 4G LTE. What doesn’t excite me is the Snapdragon 400 CPU.

Let’s see what formal reviews say about it in the days ahead. Phones from Blu might have competition.

  1. E.T.

The three ZTE z7 variants look much more interesting with a Snapdragon 801 and modest pricing in China. The mini being the most affordable. ZTE gas a good reputation and Spec-wise these are as good as the Xiaomi mi4 but not as hyped. Might be worthwhile to follow user reviews.
