China Sprouts More 8.9-Inch Tablets

The Teclast P90HD is no longer alone in this market. Unlike the 8.9-inch Nexus 9, none of these are 4:3; all have 1920 x 1200 resolution. [Correction: The Teclast P90HD is alone with 2560 x 1600 resolution — which was rumored for the Nexus 9.] [Update: Lane, in Comments, reminded me that the Pipo P4 — which I’ve mentioned here just once — is also 8.9-inches at 1920 x 1200.]

You forgot about the Pipo p4. It’s 8.9 as well but only 19k*12k. I love my p90hd BTW. I have an nvidia shield tablet too but like the p90hd more. The screen is awesome and it gets better battery life.

    • Yeah, I did forget about it, probably because it was just 1920 x 1200. Tx.

Lol understandable, 1920 x 1200 at 8.9 *is* very forgettable. My 8 inch shield tablet is the same resolution and I find it lacking (although the same PPI as the new nexus 9.. Pishaw!) At 8.9 inch that resolution would suck ass. Apple needs to redefine “retina” , anything under 325 ppi simply does not cut the muster. I don’t buy their theory that I should hold a tablet farther away from my face than a phone. But leave it to Apple to attempt to dictate how people hold their devices.
