No, I didn’t plan this. Timing. It happens.
I will pick it up with Weibo in China tomorrow.

Daring Fireball (aka John Gruber) on Fred Wilson’s 2015 Predictions:
First of all, it’s not a “third OS.” MIUI is a skin over Android, not much different from other skins. It’s “non-Google” in the way AOSP Android is. But you really think Xiaomi won’t get Google Certified and add Play Store if need be? Puhleeze. There were and still are craptabs with fall-apart hardware that got Certified.
The above appears in a Nokia N1 compilation of pimping posts at ZOL [Google Translate].
It will use the Intel Z3580.
We’ll know soon if it’s true. The announcement is January 7.

A reminder that most of the Chinese have days off. So any news that pops up during this time will be rare.
Tomorrow Xiaomi is supposed to release their Tencent/QQ phone. I won’t post about that.
It’s also rumored they’ll release sales figures. If they do, there will be a post but expect major tech sites elsewhere to likely report it first. The main difference will be I’ll link to the source Weibos.
