Psst! Wanna Buy A TouchPad Go?

WTS: 7x HP TouchPad Go 32GB Wi-Fi&3G DVT unit+leather case+screen protector+spare battery

When I no longer care, a stack of them go up for sale!

Not even as a memento. Nothing but slow, old, heavy bricks now.

The best bits of webOS were grave-robbed by Android and iOS.

Onda V975s Gets First Review

Over at IMP3Net [Google Translate].

Look, this is just 1GB of RAM, 16GBs of internal storage, and a 1024 x 768(!) screen. Is anyone going to want this outside of budget-constrained Chinese? I feel like I’m wasting my time here writing anything more… so just click through to the review itself. Spoiler: The camera sucks.

Ployer Announces A Dual-Boot Tablet

A new eight-inch — Android and Windows 8.1 combined — tablet.

The new Ployer is a bit of an upgrade from the original MOMO8W but spitefully retains that name [Google Translate]. The original had 2GBs of RAM with 16GBs of internal storage and no HDMI-out. The new one has HDMI-out and 32GBs of internal storage combined with the original 2GBs of RAM.

Apparently this new one can be distinguished by its white shell, in contrast to the original being black.

Our Bleak Turing Spambot Future

Persado Raises $21 Million to Replace Human Copywriters With Computers

Citi uses Persado for its credit card business and says the rate at which its emails are opened has increased by 70%. In addition, the rate at which recipients who open those emails go on to click on them has increased by 114%.

“We have never lost to a human,” Mr. Vratskides said. “I’m a mathematician , and I can guarantee you, it’s like a computer losing to a human on a chess game, even worse than that…It incorporates a lot of randomness to get there, it’s like getting a needle in a haystack. We built the haystack. The human brain does not work this way.”

Enjoy your Algorithmic Armageddon, asshole.

Ramos Phone Coming

No details yet. Looks near six inches, though! Background information [Google Translate].

Ramos was the first Intel partner in China and has been making a great effort to improve its build quality, design, and quality control. This could be interesting if it has worldwide LTE frequencies.
