Pebble Time: Insanely Revolutionary

A Pebble in Apple’s Shoe

Migicovsky adds that instead of apps, people will download functions – like travel, sports scores, weather and so on. The data formerly presented within apps will be available to the watch, but will appear only on the proper time. … He describes it as taking away the walls of the app. “You have better things to do in your life than click around your watch to open up new things,” he says.

Boldfaced emphasis added by me.

Apple totally missed that.

Steve Jobs must be screaming from the grave.

The Apple Watch is More Of The Same. A shrunken PDA.

What Pebble has done is rethink everything.

  1. E.T.

    Interesting read!
Indeed, the timeline idea is both original and intriguing, plus it’s hard not to sympathize with a small player among the tech giants.
On the flip side, the new design is not as elegant as other offerings and the specs are modest (http://www.reddit.com/r/pebble/wiki/tech_specs).

  2. The big is problem is that it doesn’t look good. Great part of the success for a smart watch is the looks – fashion component.
