Special beatings should be set aside for the teams that code Google’s Chrome browser and the free Windows program called Paint.Net. Both have turned into slow, cloggy shit.

I think that the heavy web sites that include flash, videos (some of which auto-start – @#$%!), etc. are the major reason why (all) web browsers slow down. Some add-ons can help by blocking ads, flash, etc..
BTW, from my experience IE is worse than Chrome.
Safari is probably as bad as IE — which is why I’ve not used either in years. Maybe MS’s Spartan browser will be worthwhile?
