Sony Does A Facepalm Move

Now that they’ve released the Android 5.0 update for the Xperia T2 Ultra, they’ve also raised the price from US$249 to US$299!

From time to time, the website has shown it for US$299, but it was always US$249 in-store. Now it’s US$299 in-store.

At US$249, I could talk myself into it over the US$249 Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3.

At US$50 more, I just can’t justify it despite my love of the design, screen size, and sleek thinness.

Sony really better hope the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 is as locked-up as the ZTE Zmax!

R.I.P. Actress Grace Lee Whitney

RIP Star Trek’s Grace Lee Whitney

Grace Lee Whitney, who played Captain Kirk’s yeoman Janice Rand on the first season of the classic show, has died aged 85.

She was one of the sexiest women on TV, and probably the sexiest woman in SF TV. It was no surprise that Charlie X fell for her. We all did.

Rest in peace.

Samsung S2 Tabs: June 2015

Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Tab S2 9.7 will be announced in June

According to the latest information, there will be four variants of the upcoming high-end tablet – Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE variants of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 – and all of them will be announced in June, just like the original Galaxy Tab S. These new tablets will be released worldwide, including the US, Canada, European markets, China, Latin America, Hong Kong, Korea, and India.

That is not too long a wait for what might be my tablet deliverance after all this time.

But what will China do in terms of Core-M and 4:3 tablets? It’s doubtful there will be any Core-M dual-OS tablets. (CUBE offers a wonky Android emulator for their non-4:3 i7 tablet. See Hendrickon’s video.)
