This has an Intel Atom x5-Z8500. We’re expecting the new 4:3 aspect tablets next month to contain Exynos CPUs. So what strange beast is this that runs Android on Intel with 4GBs of RAM? The x5 seems too mid-range to me to be paired with a whopping 4GBs of RAM. So I’m stumped.

The Sharp AQUOS Xx features a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080) Full HD S-CG LCD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with Adreno 430 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box. Due to bezel-less design on the top, the front-facing cameras along with couple of sensors are placed below the display and the earpiece speaker has been replaced with bone conducting technology, much like its predecessor, AQUOS Crystal X. However, Sharp has decided to drop the Crystal branding on this flagship device.
It is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and CMOS sensor. On the front, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The bezel-less phablet is 8.7 mm thick.
On the connectivity front, the Sharp AQUOS Xx has 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC. It packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood.
This is an unexpected device with appealing specs!
