Samsung announces the 5.6 mm thin Galaxy Tab S2

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 hands-on

This time around, Samsung is fixing that by putting in the Exynos 5433 from the Galaxy Note 4 in the Galaxy Tab S2.

Boldfaced emphasis added by me.

How does the Galaxy Tab S2 stack up to the Galaxy Tab S?

Wait. WHAT?!!?

No Exynos 7420?!!?

So, no CPU from the S6.

What does this mean in terms of AnTuTu?

Let’s see …

Best Buy’s Secret RK3288 iPad Mini Clone: Part Three

Best Buy’s secret Rockchip 3288-based tablet, the Insignia Flex Elite, appeared at the FCC back in June, under the Grantee code XMF (XMF-MID7802). It’s never fun linking directly to the FCC, so here’s an alternate link that should work for everybody.

The user manual can be seen online here.

After the break, external and internal photos from the FCC.

Windows iPad Clone With Retina Screen At Costco

NuvisionWindows97Costco001

NuVision TM970 Windows 8 WiFi Tablet | Intel Atom Quad Core | Office 365 Personal | Keyboard Folio Case

With 2MP front and back cameras, this seems very sketchy. Yet it has 2GBs RAM and 32GBs of internal storage. If anyone happens to be near a Costco and wants to try a Windows-based iPad clone from China, this could be your chance if a demo model is on display.

Additional info is at the NuVision site listing.

Ramos Seven-Inch Windows Phone Moves Forward

Ramos Q7 Gets Certified by TENAA, Possibly the Biggest Windows Phone Device Ever

A Chinese site reveals more specs [Google Translate]:

Now, this Q7 Blue Devils official officially released. Blue Devils Q7 running Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, equipped with Qualcomm Xiaolong 200 quad-core processor, equipped with seven inches 720p screen, 2.0 megapixel front camera, rear camera 5 million pixels.

The Snapdragon 200 in this phone generally scores in the 15,000-16,000 range. I’m not sure how much that matters with Windows 8.1 or if it’ll matter with Windows 10 (should such an upgrade be available).

Best Buy’s Secret RK3288 iPad Mini Clone: Part Two

Dan EE left a new Comment about his experience with the tablet, some of which I’ll quote here:

Is is weird, but you have to use the “store picup” -> “closest stores” radio button to find out if they have it your store. It won’t show with the “in stock” button. Then you will need to go bug someone clueless “Professional Sales Associate” to look under all the cabinets.

I had a day to play with it and get some more info. I have verified it does have AC as well as A. The Broadcom BCM4350 should also support FM radio (no app with it). Besides the screen brightness issue, there is a bad bug with the External SDcard. Only the stock file app and gallery app can read from the external SDcard. I realize that with Kit Kat on up, you had to rooted to write to external cards, however apps with the READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE set in the manifest should be able to read from the external SDcards. Kodi and ES file explorer can’t read from it or a USB flash.

That microSD card issue is Not Good.

And there’s even more Not Good from a review posted at the Best Buy site.
