Insignia Flex Elite 7.85: eMMC Problem, Motherboard WTF

Bad news so far from Dan EE with the OMA ROM attempt.

At the ARCTablet forum:

Well, that got me wondering about the eMMC hardware being used.

So I called up the FCC Internal Photos [PDF link] and discovered a big WTF I missed earlier.

What the hell are those wires doing over the motherboard like that?

Are those some kind of jumpers? And what are they jumping? And how did they screw up the design that they needed to manually — because you can’t do that with a machine — fix it?

This is getting very weird.

I still hope the problems getting OMA’s ROM onto the tablet can be overcome.
