Compaq CQ60-615DX Turning On problems

That worked. Even though this is a Compaq CQ60-422DX.

This is a piece of shit I “inherited” because a cat scratched off numberpad keys and the battery has just about thirty seconds of life left in it.

I thought the battery went to zero and it wouldn’t work solely via AC so I didn’t bother to Google until today! Yes, I can be that fucking stupid.

Anyway, it’s back.

All that said, a word of advice to avoid the Lenovo – Yoga 2 2-in-1 11.6″ Touch-Screen Laptop – Intel Pentium – 4GB Memory – 500GB Hard Drive – Silver which was tempting me on sale at Best Buy. Go read the two-star reviews. It’s a brutal piece of shit.

Would like recommendations for a future sub-$400 non-Toshiba notebook Just In Case. But it must have an IPS screen. I’m done with these shit screens that must be viewed at only one angle or all the colors drain away! Otherwise it’ll be a Chromebook. Likely the Asus Chromebook Flip — and that would irk me, because I use one critical piece of software that’s Windows-only.

Only now I realise that this was the solution to YOUR problem:) Turning off then removing all power sources and their cables then wait then inverse is a standard procedure for electronics (router, TV, etc.). But holding a button for 20 seconds is outside what one can expect. 5 seconds, yes. But 20… Ugh.
