Here’s my first problem with this series:
Who the hell can read titles like that unless you have big-ass one-percenter 4K 85-inch TV? Come on!
Meanwhile, the in-episode credits are this size:
And hey, can we finally get some guidelines from all channels about the Safe Area for credits so they’re not obscured by the damned channel watermark?
My second problem is the special effects, which are videogame quality …
… and then sometimes worse:
As for the story, I’m still not sure what the hell is going on. But there’s been a cop taking a bribe that he later regrets, the same cop getting an “off-book” assignment to track down a rich runaway(?) girl, and a looted(?) and crewless freighter that has been left to send out a distress call that might or might not have been bait to trap others.
Oh yeah, and the future will still have shit like this:
Look, can writers stop calling them that?
Were Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Treblinka, and the rest Nazi Black Sites?
Call them the disgraceful thing they are: Torture Chambers.
When you use the language of the torturers, you make them seen good and cool.
They’re not good and cool. They’re Nazi soul-brother motherfuckers.
What they do is disgraceful and should not be made to seem something that’s run of the mill in an advanced society.
This episode was very rough and very confusing. But it intrigued me enough to want to see episode two.
That, however, is not a recommendation.

VAGUE, IMPRESSIONISTIC NOT-REALLY-SPOILERS THAT ARE ENTIRELY THEORETICAL AND REACTION-BASED BECAUSE I MOST CERTAINLY HAVEN’T WATCHED EPISODES 3 AND 4 BECAUSE HOW COULD I?
But yeah lets say, in some imaginary world I had gone ahead and watched episodes 3 and 4 because they’d ironically leaked online before episode 2 had posted. In that world, it’s not unrealistic to imagine I had a stupid grin on my face for about at least 35% of the time, especially in the 4th episode.
Crap, this means quite a long time before new episodes again, eh? I mean, theoretically.
Anyways, I’ll let everyone go back to discussing episode 2 which I’ve definitely seen already because I’m watching this totally above-board and legal-like, and so I’m definitely not going off to retroactively watch that now because as aforementioned I watched that episode earlier tonight rather than episodes 3 and 4.
