Bad news out of Twitter …

I’ve been waiting to see this happen:
After the break, two more videos showing benchmarks and demonstrations of apps.
Really, the Nook Touch is the best damned eInk device out there!

And don’t miss the Nook Touch running classic Mac OS!

Here it is, the proof everyone needed to see (no audio):
Showing how the mac works on the nook. It has a few quirks, but overall it’s pretty neat. I even had Myst running the other day. I figured out eventually.. (after I made the video) that if the command key is pressed in, you can’t type anything in a game or application. Also if you notice in the darts and lemmings, the contrast is low. This can be adjusted but it takes a minute of sporadic tapping to bring up the contrast settings. This wasn’t happening in the old version of NoRefresh. Anyways, mac on a nook!

Flying Toasters on a Nook Touch!
Macintosh veterans will immediately recognize that classic screensaver!
And there’s more!
I haven’t been keeping up with news at XDA Developers forum so I missed the lead up to what follows, the ultimate hacking of a Nook Touch.
XDA Developers forum Member Renate has hacked the hell out of her Nook Touch, making it do things I never thought possible, like:
• 24-bit audio recording
• playing MP3 audio
• Skype chats
• using a GPS puck
And that’s just for starters!
Very good developments!
They updated the Kobo app in the Android Market (Google Play whatever) on March 23rd 2012. It now works on the Nook Simple Touch by Barnes and Noble.
