What’s immediately apparent is that although this comes from China, the build quality is superior to most Chinese tablets. There’s no black tape all over the place:

Ducati! I tried to chase that down but came up empty aside from a site that sells Acer replacement parts.
It doesn’t look to me as if Acer just slapped their name on a Chinese OEM tablet. This is superior quality to every other disassembled domestic Chinese tablet I’ve seen. The A1-830 sells cheap but wasn’t made cheap.
Combined with the demos I saw on HSN, this tablet is very impressive for the price.
