Because I Am Mean, Verizon

February 1, 2007: A Jackass Quote For All Of History

Verizon turned down iPhone’s advances

Verizon Communications president and chief operating officer Denny Strigl said: “The iPhone product is something we are happy we aren’t the first to market with.”

This post is set to autopublish Tuesday.

During that day, Verizon will launch the iPhone on its network.

It will be interesting to see what kind of bleed-them-dry pricing and stingy data caps Verizon will strangle buyers with.

People might be happy to finally make good voice calls, but what advantage is that if the iPhone is virtually crippled by access to more expensive and far less Internet access than the AT&T version?

Besides, who the hell uses voice these days except in dire emergencies or to inform someone else of a death?

You had better choose which one you want to live under, because each one leads to different consequences for all of us.

We Can’t Report Potential Nuts

Jared Loughner’s behavior recorded by college classmate in e-mails

He is one of those whose picture you see on the news, after he has come into class with an automatic weapon.

That was written by a 52-year-old woman. She knew what she was seeing.

Who could she have reported Loughner to?

Who would have listened? Would Dupnik have listened and done anything?

The way things are today, she would have been investigated instead.

Loughner goes on to do what he did while governments who are concerned only with their own self-preservation send out spies everywhere.
